
"Intertwined” sculpture unveiled during the celebration of Philippines-France Friendship Day on Sunday, 26 June 2022, at the Las Piñas-Parañaque Wetland Park (LPPWP). The sculpture was made by Filipino artist Raphael David and is made of stainless steel. It depicts the fused feathers of the Gallic Rooster and the Philippine Eagle symbolizing the friendship, shared values, and history of the two countries and their commitment to protect the environment.
Senator Cynthia Villar, visiting French Senator Samantha Cazebone, and French Ambassador to the Philippines Michele Boccoz led the unveiling of the sculpture together with DENR Assistant Secretaries Gilbert Gonzales (Field Operations - Luzon and Visayas) and Hiro V. Masuda ((Human Resources, Strategic Communication and Sectoral Initiatives), DENR Directors Al O. Orolfo (Foreign Assisted and Special Projects Service), Natividad C. Bernardo (Biodiversity Management Bureau), and Khalil S. Bayam (Strategic Communication and Initiatives Service). DENR National Capital Region Regional Executive Director and concurrent LPPWP PAMB chair, Jacqueline A. Caancan, together with her Assistant Regional Directors Manuel T. Escasura (Management Services) and Engr. Ignacio R. Almira Jr. (Technical Services), Division Chiefs, Section Chiefs, and LPPWP PAMO staff, welcomed and hosted the event.
