DENR National Capital Region, through its Regional Public Affairs Office, holds a lecture-forum on solid waste management for officers and members of Youth for Environment in Schools-Organization (YES-O) of St. Scholastica's Academy - Marikina, High School Department on Friday, 31 January 2020.

The learning event, done in time with the celebration of Zero Waste Month, aims to raise awareness of youth-students on the importance of ecological solid waste management and the practice of waste reduction and segregation at-source.

The participants were also given a briefer on the state of Manila Bay and on how they can participate in the on-going #BattleForManilaBay.

Zero Waste Month is celebrated January of each year per Presidential Proclamation No. 760, dated May 5, 2014.
