THE_MANILA_BAYWALK_DOLOMITE_BEACH_OPENS_TO_THE_PUBLIC

Visitors enjoy the most welcome respite from the bustle of city life at Manila Baywalk Dolomite Beach on the third day of its reopening to the public.

The 140-meter beach area—which is Phase 1 of the Manila Bay Beach Nourishment Project of the DENR—was reopened to the public on Saturday, 16 October 2021.

DENR Undersecretary for Policy, Planning and International Affairs, Atty.Jonas R. Leones, together with DENR-NCR Regional Executive Director Jacqueline A. Caancan, her Assistant Regional Directors Dr. Al O. Orolfo (Management Services), and Martin Jose V. Despi (Special Concerns), and EMB-NCR Regional Director, Atty. Michael Drake P. Matias led the opening ceremony.

Also present during the reopening are officials and representatives from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), City Government of Manila, Philippine Coast Guard, and PNP-Maritime Group.

Meanwhile, in a press statement issued on Sunday, 17 October 2021, DENR Secretary Roy A. Cimatu, expressed his elation to the strong public reception to the newest tourist attraction along the Manila Baywalk area.

"We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from the public which made the reopening of Manila Bay Dolomite Beach truly successful," the statement read.
