The Regional Youth Desk Office of DENR National Capital Region hosted a guided tour of the National Museum of Natural History in Manila for selected employees on Tuesday, 5 July 2022.
The learning activity, aimed at encouraging youth employees of the regional office to take interest in the natural sciences, offered the participants a glimpse of the rich and unique biological and geological history of the Philippines. RSCIG Information Officer and RYDO focal person Arizol John Abad said he plans to bring more youth personnel of the regional office to the museum and other places of interest in Metro Manila like the Las Piñas-Parañaque Wetland Park (LPPWP) and Le Mesa Water Reservation area and activity engage them in doing environmental education and advocacy work. “Though we work in different divisions, sections, and units of the DENR National Capital Region, we believe our colleagues can be effective ambassadors for the environment given proper training and exposure”, Abad explained.
