Officials and personnel of the Philippines Coast Guard led by PCG Commandant, Admiral George V. Ursabia, Jr.; Coast Guard District National Capital Region-Central Luzon Commander, Comm. Charlie Q. Rances; Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Civil Relations Service, CG-7 Capt. Glenda T. Pereyra; and, Coast Guard Civil Relations Office Commander Capt. Luz L. Escarilla, planted trees at the Las Pinas-Paranaque Wetland Park (LPPWP) on Sunday, 4 October 2020.

They were met and assisted by DENR Assistant Secretary for Field Operations-Mindanao and Legislative Affairs, Joan A. Lagunda, and officials of the DENR National Capital Region led by Assistant Regional Directors Al O. Orolfo for Management Services and Engr. Ignacio R. Almira, Jr. for Technical Services), Conservation and Development Division (CDD) Chief Aida E. Esguerra and Protected Area Park Superintendent Rey M.T. Aguinaldo.

A total of seventy (70) saplings composed of beach type tree species were planted by the PCG. The activity is part of the upcoming celebration of the 119th founding anniversary of the PCG on 10 October 2020. LPPWP is one of the two protected areas of Metro Manila under the Expanded NIPAS law (Republic Act No. 11038) and is recognized as a wetland of international importance by the Ramsar Convention.
