PH CHINA FRIENDSHIP DRAGON BOAT RACE PARTICIPANTS HELD A CLEANUP AT THE DOLOMITE BEACH AREA

Participants of the Philippines-China Friendship Dragon Boat Race hold a cleanup at the Dolomite Beach in the Baywalk area, Ermita, Manila on Sunday, 31 July 2022.

The cleanup was led by the Dragon Boat Federation of the Philippines in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). The Chinese Ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines, Huang Xilian, and the members of the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers Of Commerce & Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) participated in the activity. They were joined by representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Manila Police District (MPD), PNP Maritime Group, and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). Gen. Reuel Sorilla, OIC Director for the DENR Environmental Law Enforcement and Protection Service and Manila Baywalk Dolomite Beach Ground Commander in a concurrent capacity, and Forester Rodelina M. De Villa, OIC Director for DENR Metropolitan Environmental Office (MEO-West), along with some personnel from the Manila Bay Site Coordinating Management Office (MBSCMO), and Estero Rangers represented the DENR in the activity. Making Manila Bay safe for contact sports and other recreational activities is one of the major objectives of the ongoing cleanup of Manila Bay under the Writ of Continuing Mandamus issued by the Supreme Court of the Philippines.
