PARTICIPANTS OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL YOUTH CAMP PRESENTS THEIR GROUP OUTPUT

Participants of the first-ever DENR National Capital Region Environment Youth Camp proudly present the output of their group work. The workshop, facilitated by Coastal Resources and Foreshore Management Section (CRFMS) Chief Justin de Ramos, was one of the many learning activities the Manila Bay Site Coordinating and Management Office (MBSCMO), Regional Youth Desk Office (RYDO), and the Regional Strategic Communication and Initiatives Group (RSCIG) has prepared for the 40 plus participants of the learning event.

The group activity aimed to show the youth the interconnectedness of coastal and marine ecosystems with the urban, forest, and upland ecosystems, giving emphasis to the fact that whatever happens to one part of the ecosystem necessarily affects the other. "To save Manila Bay, we need to think of it as one integrated ecosystem. We must not limit our efforts to coastal cleanups and set our sights on environmental degradation that happens in rivers and esteros in urban areas and other waterways upstream", de Ramos explained.
