MBSCMO CONVENED MEMBERS OF THE PAMARISAN RIVER SYSTEM FOR THE RMC SECOND QUARTER MEETING

Members of the Pasig-Marikina-San Juan (PAMARISAN) River System Management Committee meet to present and discuss their second quarter accomplishments on solid and liquid waste management, identification and relocation of informal settler families along waterways, and habitat and resources restoration. PAMARISAN is one of the 3 major river systems of Metro Manila.

The river system crosses the middle portion of the region and connects Manila Bay with the Upper Marikina River System and Laguna Lake. Members of the PAMARISAN RMC include representatives of the city governments of Pasig, Marikina, San Juan, Makati, Manila, Mandaluyong, Taguig, Quezon, and the municipality of Pateros. The Manila Bay Site Coordinating and Management Office (MBSCMO) of DENR National Capital Region facilitates the quarterly meeting of the RMC in keeping with the directive of the Supreme Court of the Philippines in its Writ of Continuing Mandamus on the cleanup and rehabilitation of Manila Bay. The meeting took place last June 21 in Taguig City.
