The Manila Bay Coordinating Office (MBCO) award partners of DENR National Capital Region for their work and contributions to the cleanup and rehabilitation of Manila Bay. The MBCO presented Certificates of Recognition to Villar-Sipag Foundation, Wild Bird Club of the Philippines (WBCP) President Michael Lu, Barangay 412 Punong Barangay Filomena Cinco, and the Asian Terminal, Inc. in a ceremony held at Diamond Hotel Manila on Tuesday, 14 June 2022.
DENR Acting Secretary Jim O. Sampulna, together with former Secretary Roy A. Cimatu, MBCO Director Jacob F. Meimban, and Atty. Antonio A. Oposa led the awarding ceremony. Assisting them are Assistant Regional Directors Manuel T. Escasura (Management Services) and Engr. Ignacio R. Almira, Jr. (Technical Services) of DENR National Capital Region. The Manila Bayani Award aims to recognize partners of the DENR in the National Capital Region (NCR), Central Luzon (Region 3), and CALABARZON (Region 4A) for their support to the rehabilitation of Manila Bay.
