GOVERNMENT AGENCIES TAKE PART ON THE BASECO BEACH CLEANUP

_{The cleanup at the Baseco beach in Tondo, Manila was led by the DENR National Capital Region on Saturday, 19 September 2020.}

_{It was attended by employees from the Department of Public Services (DPS) of Manila City government, Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and other local community organizations to celebrate the 35th International Coastal Cleanup in Metro Manila. The cleanup resulted in the removal of more than 200 kilograms of trash on the 700 meter stretch of the beach area. “Safe Oceans Start At Home” is this year’s theme for the ICC 2020.}

_{The purpose of the cleanup is to engage people to remove trash and debris from beaches and waterways, to identify the sources of the litter, and to change the behaviors that cause pollution.}
