DENR National Capital Region Regional Executive Director Jacqueline A. Caancan gave her directives for the new year to members of the expanded executive committee on Monday, 9 January 2023.
In her speech, Director Caancan said that developing the Regional Resiliency Framework plan is her top priority for this year. “We need to identify actual vulnerabilities and hazards of the region and develop, together with the 17 local government units of Metro Manila, an integrated plan to reduce environmental risks using nature and science-based approach”, Director Caancan said. She also directed the management services to continue enhancing DENR and EMB-NCR’s human resource management strategy and organizational development. “We need to capacitate ‘middle managers’ to address the gap between the directors, division chiefs, and section chiefs”, she added.
