DENR_NATIONAL_COASTAL_RANGER_IN_LPPWP_WORKS_HARD_UNDER_THE_SUN

A Coastal Ranger of the DENR National Capital Region assigned to the Las Pinas-Paranaque Wetland Park (LPPWP) works hard under the sun, removing trash and other debris off the shores of Manila Bay. “

The bits and pieces of trash that our Coastal Rangers are dutifully picking are someone else’s, thrown from somewhere else”, Regional Executive Director Jacqueline A. Caancan explained. “Most of the trash that we see in Manila Bay – plastic food packaging and all – come from our houses, offices, and places of commerce and recreation. If we want a clean and safe Manila Bay, we must start reducing the trash we generate and practice proper waste disposal. We need to change the way we live, our beliefs and behavior to save Manila Bay”, she added.
