DENR National Capital Region welcomed San Carlos City, Negros Occidental officials to the Las Piñas-Parañaque Wetland Park (LPPWP) and Dolomite Beach in Manila on Thursday, 14 July 2022.
Led by San Carlos City Mayor Renato Y. Gustilo and Vice Mayor Christopher Paul S. Carmona, members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod and representatives of the Planning Office and City Environment Management Office of San Carlos, were given a tour of the LPPWP and Dolomite Beach by DENR National Capital Region Regional Executive Director Jacqueline A. Caancan, former DENR Assistant Secretary Corazon C. Davis, Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services, Engr. Ignacio R. Almira, Jr., Administrative Division Chief Jan S. Bautista, Manila Bay Focal Haidee D. Pabalate, and LPPWP PAMO Aleine Miranda. Mayor Gustilo and his team are in Metro Manila to see first-hand the practices, innovations and interventions of the regional office in managing LPPWP and the cleanup and rehabilitation of Manila Bay. Earlier this year, Mayor Gustilo hosted a similar experiential learning activity for officials of DENR National Capital Region to key coastal areas and projects of San Carlos City. San Carlos City is a multi-awarded LGU known for their best practices in ecotourism and solid waste management among others.
