DENR National Capital Region, through its South Field Office (SFO), joined volunteers from Barangay Marcelo Green, together with the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of ParaƱaque City, and Estero Rangers in the cleanup of Pagsisihan Creek.
The intensive effort resulted in the recovery of 27 sacks of trash in the waterway. Almanza Creek is a tributary of ParaƱaque River; it passes through several barangays before merging and exiting Manila Bay. Trash thrown in the upstream and midstream portions of the waterway eventually reaches Manila Bay if left uncollected.
DENR National Capital Region, in line with the continuing Mandamus of the Supreme Court, is leading efforts to clean and rehabilitate rivers and esteros that flow directly into Manila Bay.
