DENR National Capital Region, through its Manila Bay Site Coordinating and Management Office (MSBCMO), provided trash rafts to the cities of Manila and Makati to help them in their cleanup and rehabilitation activities for waterways within their respective territory.
River Protection Officers from the West Field Office (WFO) of DENR National Capital Region, as well as the Estero Rangers assigned in the area, assisted in the delivery and deployment of the trash rafts at Estero de Balate, Barangay 661 and 663, Manila, and Pateros River in Makati City.
The trash rafts are made of bamboo and plastic containers and are meant to assist Estero Rangers to remove trash from inaccessible portions of the waterway assigned to them.
DENR National Capital Region is leading efforts and partnering with Local Government Units of Metro Manila in the cleanup and rehabilitation of Manila Bay and the rivers and esteros that drain into the historic bay.
