Bakawan Warriors of DENR National Capital Region stationed at the Tanza Marine Tree Park (TMTP) in Navotas City ready propagules of Api-api (𝘈𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘢) and Bakawan Lalake (𝘙𝘩𝘪𝘻𝘰𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘢 𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘢) for the opening of planting season this June.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) is set to organize a nationwide simultaneous tree planting activity next month to celebrate Philippine Environment Month and DENR Anniversary.
TMTP, a 26-hectare mangrove reservation area co-managed by DENR National Capital Region and the city government of Navotas, is one of the target planting areas in Metro Manila. 11 species of mangroves are found in the area, making it an important nature conservation area of the region.
