DENR National Capital Region through the Conservation and Development Division (CDD) and Regional Strategic Communication and Initiatives Group (RSCIG), organized a webinar on Watershed Protection and Conservation on Monday, 29 March 2021.

The learning event focused on the importance of watersheds as a source of clean and potable water is part of the regional office’s series of activities held in celebration of World Water Day 2021.

Forester Aleine Marie Miranda of CDD served as resource speaker, she discussed, in particular, the La Mesa Watershed Reservation (LMWR) area and its vital role in ensuring the supply of water for the more than 12 million residents of Metro Manila and neighboring cities and municipalities in Central Luzon and CALABARZON.

More than 200 people, composed mostly of youth and students, attended the learning event. They will be receiving bar-coded Certificates of Participation signed by the DENR National Capital Region Executive Director Jacqueline A. Caancan.

World Water Day and Philippine Water Week is an annual environmental celebration meant to raise awareness on the importance of water in sustaining life on Earth.
