DENR Metropolitan Environmental Office-North (MEO-North) joined the celebration of Philippine Arbor Day on Saturday, 25 June 2022, at Barangay Malinta in Valenzuela City by organizing a Community PanTREE.
The activity, organized together with the Conservation Development Division–Production Forest Management Section (CDD-PFMS) of DENR National Capital Region, was participated by residents and members of United Neighborhood Association of Bukid (UNAB). A total of 200 seedlings of fruit-bearing trees were given away.
Aside from the distribution of free seedlings, MEO-North’s Environmental Protection Officer II Jordan John P. Cabarles discussed to the participants the importance of planting trees in relation to climate change and global warming while Forester Jerrymie Dinampo of the CDD-PFMS discussed proper planting and maintenance of trees. Malinta Kagawad for Environment Noel Doneza, Malinta Kagawad Bimbo Cruz and UNAB President Ediliza Ilumin also joined the program.
