The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology-Quezon City Jail Female Dormitory is the DENR National Capital Region’s “Kampeon ng Katubigan” awardee for World Water Day Awards 2021 held in an online awarding ceremony on 22 March 2021.

The BJMP-QCJFD was chosen because of their commitment and continued support to the National Greening Program (NGP) of the DENR, as well as to efforts of the regional office in protecting and conserving the La Mesa Watershed Reservation (LMWR) area in Quezon City. Likewise, the BJMP-QCJFD is an active partner of the DENR National Capital Region in its other programs, projects, and activities, particularly the on-going Manila Bay Rehabilitation Program.

The World Water Day Awards is an annual event established to give honor to “water champions”, i.e., individuals, groups, and institutions who made a difference in the area of water access and environmental sustainability. It is organized by the National Water Resources Board (NWRB) and Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (MWSI) and usually held formally. BJMP-QCJFD JSUPT Maria Lourdes Pacion accepted the award on behalf of BJMP-QCJFD.
