DENR National Capital Region, through its West Field Office (WFO), initiated a clean-up of a portion of Sto. Niño Creek in Barangay 190, Pasay City, on Thursday, 28 October 2021.

Twenty (20) Estero Rangers joined WFO employees in declogging the waterway. Together, they were able to remove fifty-five (55) sacks of solid waste, composed mostly of plastic packaging (i.e., sachet and sando bags), glass bottles, and other residual waste from Sto. Niño Creek.

Sto. Niño Creek is an open drainage canal connected to Estero Tripa de Gallina and the Redemptorist Channel. It slits through several barangays of Pasay and Parañaque City before exiting to Manila Bay either through Parañaque River or the Redemptorist Channel. The activity is part of the ongoing cleanup and rehabilitation of Manila Bay.
