DENR National Capital Region, through its East Field Office (EFO), led a cleanup on a portion of Diliman Creek in Barangay UP Campus, Quezon City on July 14, 2021.

The activity was coordinated with officials of Barangay UP Campus, which sent a team from the Task Force on Solid Waste Management-Quezon City. The team recovered a total of 350 sacks of trash from an approximately 100-meter stretch of the waterway. Diliman Creek is a tributary of the San Juan River that is connected with Kamias Creek, which has as its source Lagarian Creek and Evangelista Creek.

The cleanup was conducted in line with the ongoing cleanup and rehabilitation of Manila Bay. DENR led an inter-agency effort to restore water quality in Manila Bay following the Writ of Continuing Mandamus of the Supreme Court.
