
DENR National Capital Region, through its South Field Office (SFO), joined volunteers from various groups and organizations in the cleanup of the coast of Las Piñas Parañaque Wetland Park (formerly LPPCHEA) in celebration of Zero Waste Month and anniversary of the launch of #BattleforManilaBay Rehabilitation on Friday, 31 January 2020.
Villar SIPAG Foundation, headed by Sen. Cynthia A. Villar, spearheaded the activity while DENR Undersecretary for Solid Waste Management and Local Government Units Concerns Benny Antiporda and Environmental Management Bureau-DENR Central Office OIC Director, Engr. William P. Cuñado, led the conduct of the program.
Mandamus agencies led by MMDA , DPWH-NCR, Philippine Coast Guard, PNP-Maritime Group, and DepEd Philippines sent their representatives. They were joined by volunteers from the Philippine Alliance for Recycling and Materials Sustainability (PARMS) led by NSWMC Commissioner Crispian Lao, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Internal Revenue Philippines, Philippine Red Cross - Las Pinas, Maynilad Water Services, Inc., Manila Bay SUNSET Partnership Program, Inc. (MBSPPI), World Wildlife Club of the Philippines, Society for the Conservation of Philippine Wetlands, Southville International School and Colleges, Divine Light Academy, Technological Institute of the Philippines, and Parañaque City College.
