DENR National Capital Region Regional Executive Director Jacqueline A. Caancan led the inspection of Paranaque River on Thursday, 26 December 2019.
She was joined by DENR-NCR South Field Office (SFO) led by Planning and Management Division (PMD) Chief and concurrent Chief Environmental Officer, Dr. Eduardo C. Calzeta and Deputy CEO Bobby Tagapan; as well as representatives from the office of DENR Undersecretary for Priority Programs and Field Operations, Atty. Juan Miguel T. Cuna; Manila Bay Site Coordinating/Management Office (MBSCMO); EMB National Capital Region; and SM Supermarket Warehouse.
RED Caancan instructed the SFO and MBSCMO to furnish the office of Usec. Cuna a copy of the data profile of Paranaque River. She also instructed EMB-NCR to set up additional water quality monitoring stations in the river system and to conduct a study on the effect of the relocation of informal settler families (ISFs) along Paranaque River in the pollution load of the waterway.
