DENR NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION HONORS RETIREES IN SALAMAT MABUHAY PROGRAM

DENR National Capital Region honored 3 retiring employees in a short ceremony under the “Salamat, Mabuhay Program” program on Friday, 4 February 2022.

The newly retired employees are Engr. Judith C. Poblete, Development Management Officer III; Juanita L. Baldovino, Land Management Officer III; and Florencio Magpantay Chavez, Land Management Officer III, all from the Licenses, Patents, and Deeds Division (LPDD). Engr. Poblete served for 30 years, followed by Baldovino who clocked in 36 years of service, while Chavez served the longest with 43 years.

The retirees were treated to a simple but heartwarming ceremony, with video messages of colleagues and well-wishers streaming live during the blended ceremony. Tears welled up as some of their co-workers recall their experience and their invaluable contributions to public service.

Top officials of DENR National Capital Region led by Regional Executive Director Jacqueline A. Caancan, Assistant Regional Directors Al O. Orolfo for Management Services, and Engr. Ignacio R. Almira, Jr. for Technical Services, and Atty. Alvin Constantino, LPDD Chief, and DNEA President bade the retirees goodbye and awarded them with plaques and certificates for their service in the government.

In her message, Director Caancan congratulated and thanked the retirees for their exemplary service. She also emphasized the importance of succession planning in the DENR National Capital Region to ensure the smooth transition of duties, responsibilities, and institutional knowledge of retiring employees to other members of the organization.

The conduct of “Salamat, Mabuhay Program” to acknowledge the government service of retirees is mandated by the Civil Service Commission through a Memorandum Circular No. 7, series of 1998. The DENR, through then Secretary Horacio Ramos, adopted said CSC Memo Circular in 2010.
