DENR National Capital Region officials and employees gather for the first time in two years for its annual Family Day festivities held on Thursday, 23 June 2022, in Quezon City. Regional Executive Director Jacqueline A. Caancan thanked everyone in attendance, including those from the Metropolitan Environment Office (MEO). She said that the gathering is significant given the fact that the regional office managed to perform well and win the 2021 EAGLE Award at the same time despite Metro Manila being the center of the pandemic. “Being in a highly urbanized setting presented more challenges to us, especially in performing our mandate of harmonizing development and environmental protection. But we were able to turn those challenges into an opportunity to shine and soar high like an eagle”, Director Caancan said. Director Caancan also thanked her Assistant Regional Directors Manuel T. Escasura (Management Services) and Engr. Ignacio R. Almira, Jr. (Technical Services), and all the Division Chiefs, Section Chiefs, Unit Heads, and rank-and-file employees.
