Go Bags are waterproof backpacks that one can readily grab and bring quickly in person. It contains supplies that will ensure basic safety and survival of the owner in case of an emergency or a need to immediately evacuate the office.

The Go Bags that the regional office distributed contained a flashlight, whistle, and a first-aid kit. The first-aid kit meanwhile includes supplies like bandage strips, sterile gauze and tape, antiseptics, and medicines such as paracetamol and antihistamine.

The distribution of the bags, according to Assistant Director Orolfo, is part of DENR National Capital Region’s program and commitment to ensure safety at the workplace and promote disaster risk awareness among its employees.

“The Go Bags are part of our compliance to international standards on occupational health and safety and existing laws on disaster risk awareness”, Assistant Director Orolfo said. “In addition to this, we also conduct regular fire and earthquake drills and train our personnel in administering first-aid because we want to ensure that our employees know what to do during emergencies. We have to look after each other not only because we’re facing a pandemic now but, more importantly, because we are one family here in DENR National Capital Region”, he added.

Representatives of the DENR-NCR Employees Association (DNEA) and Administrative Division witnessed the distribution of the Go Bags.
