DENR National Capital Region through its South Field Office (SFO) conducted regular cleanup on the shores of Las Pinas-Paranaque Wetland Park (LPPWD) and Barangay Don Galo in Paranaque City on January 13 and 14, 2021.
The activity was conducted in line with the on-going rehabilitation of Manila Bay that resulted in the recovery of eight sacks (80) sacks of mixed trash from the coasts.
LPPWP is one of the two declared protected areas of Metro Manila under Republic Act No. 11038 or the Enhanced National Integrated Protected Areas (E-NIPAS) Act of 2018.
Regional Executive Director Jacqueline A. Caancan has ordered all the DENR NCR Field Offices to conduct regular cleanups to help reduce the volume of trash in Manila Bay. The DENR is leading efforts to clean, rehabilitate, and make the waters of Manila Bay safe and fit for swimming and other recreational activities.
