DENR National Capital Region, through its Conservation and Development Division (CDD), conducted its annual Avian Health Monitoring activity at the Las Piñas-Parañaque Wetland Park (LPPWP) last October 20 to 22, 2021.
The activity aims to assess the feasibility of developing a standardized avian surveillance system, identify and assess avian species around the area, and determine the possible presence of avian influenza virus or any of its subtypes in waterbirds found in the LPPWP.
Personnel from the South Field Office (SFO) of DENR National Capital Region joined the activity meant to instruct them on the proper conduct of bird identification and population monitoring.
