DENR NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION CONDUCTS BOKASHI BALLS THROWING ON THE SHORES OF MANILA BAY

DENR National Capital Region, through the Environmental Management Bureau National Capital Region (EMB-NCR), Manila Bay Site Coordinating and Management Office (MBSCMO), and Metropolitan Environmental Office (MEO)-West threw bokashi balls on the shores of Manila Bay (near the beach nourishment project and the Manila Yacht Club) to help improve water quality in the area. Bokashi balls are known to naturally break down toxins and bad bacteria in the water. It is made up of all-organic materials, such as garden soil, molasses, rice hull, and effective microorganism solution. The Japanese popularized the use of bokashi balls in rehabilitating polluted waters.
