DENR NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION CONDUCTED QUARTERLY BIRD MONITORING ACTIVITY AT NAIA

DENR National Capital Region, through its Conservation and Development Division (CDD), conducted its quarterly bird monitoring activity at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Pasay City.

The activity was led by Las Piñas-Parañaque Wetland Park (LPPWP) Assistant Protected Area Superintendent Renz Marion Gamido and Protected Area Management Office (PAMO) staff. Bird monitoring is regularly conducted to keep track of the changes in the number of birds seen in the area. Birds are considered an “indicator species”; their presence and number in an area provide us useful information about the health and condition of the environment.
