DENR National Capital Region, through its Coastal Resources and Foreshore Management Section (CRFMS) of the Conservation and Development Division (CDD), assisted students from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) in the conduct of their field research at the Tanza Marine Tree Park (TMTP) in Navotas City.
TMTP is one of the remaining coastal areas of Metro Manila that has a thriving community of mangroves and water birds (both migratory and resident). In 2011, the Barangay Council of Tanza Uno passed an ordinance declaring the area a “marine tree park”, the first of its kind in Metro Manila.
