DENR National Capital Region Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services, Engr. Ignacio R. Almira Jr. met with Major Frank Suelto of the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations (CMO), G7 Philippine Army on Friday, 5 June 2020 in Quezon City.

The meeting was focused on strengthening the partnership between the DENR-NCR and the Philippine Army, most especially in assisting displaced individuals and families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Major Suelto sought the help of the regional office in developing programs that would enhance food security capabilities of the communities through urban forestry and most especially those people that would avail of the government’s “Balik Probinsiya, Bagong Pag-asa Program.”

Engr. Almira pledged to help the institution through its existing programs and by endorsing the proposal to the Forest Management Bureau (FMB). State of calamity was declared throughout the Philippines due to the Corona Virus Disease 2019, enjoining all government agencies and local government units (LGUs) to render full assistance, cooperation and mobilize the necessary resources to undertake critical, urgent and appropriate response and measures in a timely manner to curtail and eliminate the threat of  COVID-19.
