A Blue-naped parrot (ππ’π―πΊπ¨π―π’π΅π©πΆπ΄ ππΆπ€πͺπ°π―π¦π―π΄πͺπ΄) was surrendered by a concerned citizen from Navotas City to the DENR Metropolitan Environmental OfficeβNorth (MEO-North) on Thursday, 29 September 2022. The medium-sized parrot was immediately taken to the Wildlife Rescue Center at the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center, Quezon City, for custody and safekeeping. While widespread throughout the Philippines, habitat loss and hunting have made this species scarce on most islands except Mindoro and Palawan.
