River Protection Officers (RPOs) of the DENR Metropolitan Environmental Office (MEO)–North do their regular monitoring of rivers and esteros in their area of jurisdiction on bikes. RPOs are tasked with informing barangays on the condition of the waterways in their area of jurisdiction and in coordinating the conduct of community cleanup drives together with Estero Rangers and representatives of the barangay and city/municipality concerned. They also take the lead in the conduct of environmental education and information campaigns to encourage the active participation of residents in the ongoing cleanup and rehabilitation of Manila Bay. The DENR MEO-North covers the Caloocan-Malabon-Navotas-Valenzuela (CAMANAVA) area.
