The DENR Metropolitan Environmental Office-East retrieved a Luzon monitor lizard (𝘝𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘶𝘴 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘴) in Barangay Valencia, Quezon City on Monday, 21 March 2022. Upon retrieval, the reptile was immediately taken to the regional Wildlife Rescue Center at the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife in Quezon City for temporary custody and care. The Luzon monitor lizard is listed under the Other Threatened Species (OTS) of the DENR Administrative Order No. 2019-19 (Updated National List of Threatened Philippine Fauna and their Categories).
