DENR Metropolitan Environmental Office-West (MEO), together with EMB National Capital Region, closed an open drainage pipe at Harbor View, Manila City on Wednesday, 26 January 2022.
The drainage pipe was closed using 20 sacks of ground soil and wet cement to prevent direct discharge of wastewater to Manila Bay. Prior to its closure, technical staff from EMB National Capital took samples of the water coming out of the pipe to check for coliform content and other pollutants.
