DENR National Capital Region Regional Executive Director Jacqueline A. Caancan welcomes guests and participants to the Closing Ceremony for the month-long intensified Environmental Compliance Monitoring of establishments in Metro Manila by the combined personnel of Environmental Management Bureau-National Capital Region (EMB-NCR), Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA), and Metropolitan Environmental Offices (MEOs).
Director Caancan underscored the importance of compliance monitoring in assessing the effectiveness of DENR in enforcing environmental laws and the relevance of existing policies to changing conditions. She also noted that Metro Manila remains the hub of business and industry in the country despite the pandemic, hence the need for continuous and enhanced compliance monitoring. DENR Undersecretary for Field Operations - Luzon, Visayas and Environment, Atty. Juan Miguel T. Cuna CESO I, and OIC, Assistant Secretary for Field Operations - Luzon and Visayas, Gilbert C. Gonzales, CESO III, together with Director Caancan and EMB-NCR Regional Director Atty. Michael Drake P. Matias awarded Certificates of Appreciation to all the personnel involved in the month-long activity.
