CLEANUP ACTIVITY AT TANZA MARINE TREE PARK

More than a hundred volunteers from WeLoveU Foundation made their way to the Tanza Marine Tree Park (TMTP) in Navotas City on Thursday, 9 June 2022, to help clean and recover plastic waste from the shoreline.

The activity was facilitated by the DENR National Capital Region through its Coastal Resources and Foreshore Management Section (CRFMS), Manila Bay Site Coordinating and Management Section (MBSCMO), Metropolitan Environmental Office (MEO) North, and the Strategic Alliance and Environmental Partnership Division, SCIS, DENR Central Office.

Joining the members of the foundation are the Estero Rangers assigned in the area, Barangay Tanza Uno employees, and volunteers from DZRH. MEO-North Director, Engr. Nolan Francisco, Deputy Director Olga Arzadon, and CRFMS OIC Chief Justin de Ramos welcomed the volunteers and provided them with information about the TMTP and the ongoing cleanup and rehabilitation of Manila Bay.

WeLoveU Foundation Quezon City Chapter Director Jeremiah Jung on the other hand thanked DENR and explained that one of the objectives of their organization is conducting clean-ups in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations on Clean Water and Sanitation, Climate Action, and Life Below Water.
