
DENR-NCR Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services, Engr. Ignacio R. Almira, Jr. checks on the condition of trees planted at the La Mesa Watershed in Quezon City.
ARD Almira was accompanied by Foresters Aida E. Esguerra, Conservation and Development Division (CDD) chief and East Field Office (EFO) concurrent Chief Environmental Officer; Arturo G. Calderon, Production Forest Management Section (PFMS) and Roel Gallibu.
The La Mesa Watershed area is one of the National Greening Plan (NGP) sites of the regional office in Metro Manila and is maintained through partnerships with both public and private institutions, including civil society organizations. The La Mesa Watershed with a total of 2,700 hectares is the last remaining forest of its size in Metro Manila and it also serves a sanctuary to many indigenous species of flora and fauna.
