8TH WETLAND LINK INTERNATIONAL ASIA CONFERENCE TOUR AT LPPWP

Members and participants of the 8th Wetland Link International (WLI) conference visited the Las Piñas-Parañaque Wetland Park (LPPWP) on Thursday, 28 July 2022.

They were given a tour of the park by staff and personnel of DENR National Capital Region led by Conservation and Development Division (CDD) chief and LPPWP Protected Area Superintendent (PASU) Aida E. Esguerra, and OIC Coastal Resources and Foreshore Management Section (CRFMS) chief, Justin Albert J. de Ramos. WLI’s visit to LPPWP is part of the conference’s program and, according to the organizers, is meant to provide the participants with first-hand experience on the issues and challenges LPPWP managers face on a daily basis, allow them to identify other areas of concern, and assess its potential as a world-class wetland learning center in the near future. DENR National Capital Region manages LPPWP through the Protected Area Management Board (PAMB) and Protected Area Management Office (PAMO). The WLI is a global network of wetland centers dedicated to educating people on the importance of wetlands. LPPWP is a member of the WLI-Asia.
