LOOK: DENR National Capital Region, through its West Field Office (WFO), met with residents of Barangay 421 in Sampaloc, Manila on Saturday, 5 October 2019, to discuss about the on-going implementation of Manila Bay Rehabilitation Program and related environmental laws. Trash bins were also distributed by Punong Barangay Rufu Cayabyab during the learning event. Barangay 421 is one of the barangays traversed by Estero de Valencia, a small waterway that empties out into Manila Bay via the Pasig River. The cooperation and participation of people at the barangay level in the implementation of waste reduction and segregation at source (among others) is seen as crucial to the success of the cleanup and rehabilitation of Manila Bay. Hence, DENR National Capital Region's continuous effort to reach out and mobilize the barangay in support of the program.
