The Department of Environment and Natural Resources-National Capital Region (DENR-NCR) received a plaque recognizing its continued support to the Annual Million Tree Challenge program of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS).

DENR-NCR is one of the active partners of MWSS in its Annual Million Tree Challenge, a program that aims to reforest the La Mesa, Ipo, Angat, Laguna Lake, Umiray, and Marikina watersheds. So far, the regional office has planted 137, 000 trees in support of the undertaking.

Aside from planting the trees, DENR National Capital Region also provided the seedlings and technical assistance to other partner organizations of MWSS in its reforestation program.

DENR National Capital Region pledged to plant 100, 000 trees this year as a commitment to the project.
