Senate employees hold seminar and coastal cleanup in LPPCHEA

November  23, 2017

Employees and staff members of the Senate of the Philippines held a seminar on migratory bird protection and coastal cleanup on Wednesday, November 23, 2017 at the Las Pinas-Paranaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area (LPPCHEA).

It was a first for many of the 78 participants representing different offices of the Senate and many were surprised to find out that there still exists a flourishing coastal and wetland conservation area this side of Metro Manila.

DENR-NCR Conservation and Development Division (CDD) Chief Aida E. Esguerra and Protected Area Management and Biodiversity Section (PAMBS) OIC Chief Carlito P. Castaneda conducted the orientation on LPPCHEA and seminar and migratory bird protection.

After the briefing, the participants rushed to the shores of LPPCHEA to pick up trash brought about by currents and the northeast monsoon (Amihan).
