March 5, 2017

The Regional Public Affairs Office (RPAO) of DENR-NCR and the Environmental Education and Information Unit (EEIU) of EMB-NCR collaborated for this year’s staging of Tinig ng Kalikasan, a radio program devoted to information and news about the environment.

Photo shows (from left) anchors Nadine Samantha Valderrama of EMB-NCR and Mara Ivana Alcaraz of DENR-NCR, together with Sally Aguinaldo, EEIU Head and Christopher C. Villarin, OIC RPAO during the pilot airing of the program on Sunday, 5 March 2017.

The RPAO and EEIU discussed the Sustainable Integrated Area Development (SIAD) framework to the program’s listeners and the transition of DENR from mere regulatory body to one that is actively involved in development work under the leadership of Sec. Gina Lopez. The program also touched on the four identified SIAD sites in Metro Manila, namely the La Mesa Arboretum, Quezon City Engineered Sanitary Landfill, the Tanza Marine Tree Park and Las Piñas-Parañaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area (LPPCHEA).

Tinig ng Kalikasan airs every Sunday, 9:30 to10:00 in the morning over DZRB Radyo ng Bayan 738 kHz AM.
