Post-International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) in LPPCHEA

LPPCHEA – DENR-NCR Regional Director Lourdes C. Wagan warmly welcomes volunteers to the Las-Piñas Parañaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area (LPPCHEA) during the coastal cleanup held on Saturday, 1 October 2016.

Participating in the activity are the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Manila Bay Coordinating Office (MBCO), Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and a host of other government and non-government organizations.

The cleanup was the first multi-stakeholder activity in LPPCHEA after the aborted International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) originally scheduled on September 17, 2016.  The ICC was cancelled in the wake of increased security threat due to the bombing incident at a night market in Davao City on September 2, 2016.
