Sa takdang oras, kung kinakailangan;

Magsisilbi nang magalang at mabilis sa lahat ng nangangailangan;

Pang pag-aari ng pamahalaan;

Lumalapit sa aming tanggapan;

At sa panahong ito;

Maunlad, masagana at mapayapang Pilipinas

Magsasalita ako laban sa katiwalian at pagsasamantala;

Hindi ko gagamitin ang aking panunungkulan

Sa sarili kong kapakanan

Hindi ako hihingi o tatanggap ng suhol;

Sisikapin kong madagdagan ang aking talino at kakayahan

Upang ang antas ng paglilingkod sa bayan ay patuloy na maitaas;

The city governments of Las Piñas and Parañaque were represented by their respective City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENROs).

The Earth Day celebrators were all met and welcomed to LPPCHEA by DENR National Capital Region OIC Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services, Engr. Ignacio Almira, Jr. and Conservation and Development Division (CDD) Chief Forester Aida E. Esguerra.

The half-day activity, meant to drumbeat public awareness on plastic pollution, started early morning with participants from the Las Piñas Cycling Federation and Masarap MABUHAY Advocacy Group arriving on their bikes in LPPCHEA carrying placards containing environmental messages.

The program was hosted by actress/environmental advocate who introduced guest speakers from Greenpeace Philippines and Mother Earth Foundation.

DENR National Capital Region also organized an exhibit that focused on the impact of plastic pollution on migratory birds in LPPCHEA, as well as products made from recycled plastics by environmental groups.

A mural painting and on-the-spot painting contest was also part of the day’s activities.

The program ended with a coastal cleanup and leaders of different groups pledging to contribute to efforts to stop plastic pollution.

Earth Day 2018 also happens to be the 11th founding anniversary of LPPCHEA, the first critical habitat declared in the country.
